ii) a=(v-u)/t
So, a=(40-20)/3=20/3

iii) Acceleration between B and C is 0 as no change in velocity is observed.

iv) Acceleration between C and D is (-20)
by using same formula as in (ii)

Distance covered can be calculated by using formula s=ut+1/2at^2
so, distance in acc.
=20×3+(20/3 × 9)/2
=60+30
=90
Similarly in retardation...
s=40×2-(20×4)2
=80-160
= -80
= 80 in negative direction.
