600 is to be divided into 2 parts.
let first part be x
and 2nd part is 600-x
given 40% of(1st part)-60% of(2nd part)= 120
substituting x and and 600-x we have,
40/100(x) - 60/100(600-x) = 120
4x- 6(600-x)= 120*10=1200
4x-3600+6x=1200
10x= 4800
and x is 480
so the 2 parts are 480 and 120.
