Question no. 23
a) No, motion is not uniform because speed-time graph has no straight line.
b) No, acceleration is not uniform because from t=0 to t=4 seconds acceleration is positive and from t=4 to t=6 seconds acceleration is negative i.e. retardation.
c) Yes, the particle is changing it's direction of motion because graph is not a straight line.
d) \: distance \: from \: t = 0 \: to \: t = 4 \: seconds \\ = area \: of \: triangle \: oab \\ = \frac{1}{2} \times base \times height \\ = \frac{1}{2} \times 4 \times 2 \\ = 4
So, between t=0 to t=4 seconds distance covered is 4m.
between \: t = 4 \: and \: t = 6 \: seconds \\ = area \: of \: triangle \: abc \\ = \frac{1}{2} \times base \times height \\ = \frac{1}{2} \times 2 \times 2 \\ = 2
So, between t=4 to t=6 seconds distance covered is 2m.

So, in the whole journey distance travelled is 6m.
