=There are different types of animal tissues on the basis of the functions they perform such as
epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscular tissue and nervous tissue. Bone is an example of
a connective tissue. Tendons connect muscles to bones which are fibrous tissue with great
strength but limited flexibility. Fat storing adipose tissue is found below the skin and between
internal organs which are filled with fat globules. Muscular tissue consists of elongated cells,
also called muscle fibres. This is responsible for movement in our body. Blood flows and
transports gases, digested food, harmones and waste materials to different parts of the body.
Blood has a fluid matrix called plasma in which RBCs, WBCs and platelets are suspended
