Here is your answer,

As alpha particles are positively charged they must be attracted towards the electrons. So, in general electrons are negatively charged. But as Rutherford proved that an atom 99.9% as emptyless. Hence, there is only a less percent chance that is 0.0001% chance of an alpha particles. To get attracted towards the electrons. Hence it always deflects away and went straight through the empty space in the gold foil.
