The sentence B is completed making it as similar in meaning as possible to sentence A as follows:

1. (A) Few Indian actors are as good as him.

(B) He is better than most of the Indian actors.

2. (A) His bodyguards are checking out the bathroom.

(B) The bathroom is being checked by his bodyguards.

3. (A) “I’m ashamed of your behaviour!” shouted my father in anger.

(B) My father shouted in anger that he is ashamed of my behaviour.

4. (A) I realised later that the mistake had been mine.

(B) Only later did I realize that it had been my mistake.

5. (A) I admire Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

(B) Not only do I admire Roger Federer but Rafael Nadal too.

6. (A) No sooner did Rajiv leave school than it started to rain.

Some points to note-

  • In the first sentence, the degree of the verb is changed from positive to comparative degree. In the sentence, the sentence is changed from active to passive voice. In the third sentence, the direct speech is converted to indirect speech.
  • Sentences fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh are to be converted into sentences starting with only, not only, hardly, and unless.
  • In sentence eight, both are compound sentences, but different conjunctions are used. The ninth sentence is to be started with little.
  • In the tenth sentence, the verb is changed into a noun and the sentence is framed accordingly.
