magnetic field is developed around the wire.so the circular loop carrying current behave as a magnet.

It was discovered by orsted that current carrying wire forms a magnetical field around it.the circular loop behaves like a magnet too.if the current is in clockwise direction then it is south pole and vice versa. Formula to calculate magnetical field is B=uNI/2r
