Age of man= 24+x

Age of son=x-12
Age of man=24+x-12
=12+x
According to the question:
(12+x)=5×(x-12)
12+x =5x - 60

by second condition,
y-12 = 5(x-12)

subtracting (2) from (1) we get,

y = 42 yrs
therefore present age of son is 18yrs and man is 42yrs
