Question :

ABC is a right triangle , right angled at C .

l et BC = a, CA = b , AB = c and p be the length of perpendicular from C to AB .

Prove cp= ab .

Solution :

Given ; BC = a, CA = b , AB = c

and CD = p

Area ΔABC

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times AD\times CD

 =  \frac{1}{2 }  \times c \times p

Also Area of ΔABC

  = \frac{1}{2}  \times BC \times AC

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times a \times b

Therefore ;

 \frac{1}{2}  \times ab =  \frac{1}{2} \times  cp

↪ ab = cp

Hence proved.
