A cause is actually a reason, i.e., due to which some action is taking place.

Consider the following Examples :-

[1] Mr. Kamal Babu havent gone to the office today because \: of \: his \: illness.

● Actual sentence - Mr. Kamal Babu havent gone to the office.

● Cause (or reason) - Because he is ill.

[2] Kerala was flooded due to excessive rainfall continuing over three-four days.

● Actual sentence - Kerala was flooded.
● Cause (or reason) - Excessive rainfall continuing over three-four days.

[3] Shyam was going to doctor because he had to take medicine for curing his fever.

● Actual Sentence - Shyam was going to a doctor.
● Cause (or reason) - He had to take medicine for curing his fever.
