(1) If the length is 5m less than the twice its width, find the dimension of the rectangle. Let the width equal x m, then its length will be 2x-5 m, and half of the perimeter is represented by the equation: x+2x-5=19. Solving this equation we find the width x=8 m.

(2) The sides of the parallelogram are 24 and 16.
