Answer the following (Any One)
A bag contains in all 50 balls. Some of them are white, some are blue and some are red. The number of
white balls is 11 times the number of blue balis. The number of red balls is less than the number of
white balls. Also, the number of red balls is more than the number of blue balls. If one of the balls is
selected at random from the bag, what is the probability that it is red?

Answer:

Total no. of balls=50

let the no.of white ball be x

let the no.of blue ball be y

let the no.of red ball be z

According to the question

x=11y

x>z

z>y

Total Probability=x+y+z/50

1=11y+y+z/50

1=12y+z/50

12y+z=50......(1)

Again,

Total Probability =x+y+z/50

1=x+x/11+z/50

50=11x+x/11+z

50×11=12x+z

12x+z=560....(2)

solve the eqn by substitution method
