iron is a high reactive metal which gets reacted easily with moisture, oxygen and forms rust.

in order to protect it from reacting with surrounded atmosphere, we paint it.

paint doesn't allow the iron to react with atmosphere

because iron is used in construction like big buildings,

malls, etc

rusting of iron causes collapses of such big buildings.
