Answer:

. Characteristics of Synthetic Fibres

Synthetic fibres are cheaper than natural fibre.

Synthetic fibres are stronger than natural fibre.

Synthetic fibres are more durable than natural fibre.

Synthetic fabrics are dried up in less time.

Synthetic fibres are easy to maintain and wash .

  • Uses of Nylon

Clothing – Shirts, Foundation garments, lingerie, raincoats, underwear, swimwear and cycle wear.

Industrial uses – Conveyer and seat belts, parachutes, airbags, nets and ropes, tarpaulins, thread, and tents.

It is used to make a fishnet.

It is used as plastic in manufacturing machine parts.

  • Industrial polyester fibers, yarns and ropes are used in car tire reinforcements, fabrics for conveyor belts, safety belts, coated fabrics and plastic reinforcements with high-energy absorption. Polyester fiber is used as cushioning and insulating material in pillows, comforters and upholstery padding.
  • The primary difference between the two is that Thermoset is a material that strengthens when heated, but cannot be remolded or heated after the initial forming, while thermoplastics can be reheated, remolded, and cooled as necessary without causing any chemical change
  • Plastics are non biodegradable. They don't decompose easily in soil. Hence it will pollute the soil and considered as environment non-friendly.
