1)- Blood brings oxygen and nutrients to all the parts of the body so they can keep working. Blood carries carbon dioxide and other waste materials to the lungs, kidneys, and digestive system to be removed from the body. Blood also fights infections, and carries hormones around the body.

2)-  When the athlete runs in terrace, his body needs more oxygen. His rate of breathing increases so that more oxygen can be supplied to the body. This is the reason, an athlete needs to breathe faster and deeper than usual; after finishing the race.
