To find the mean ,

mean = sum of the values of observation / total number of observation

( ∵ here the observation is the students)

      sum of the values of observation  =(5.29)+(10.224)+(15.465)+(20.582)+(25.638)+(30.644)+(35.650)+(40.653)+(45.655)

                                                               =145+2240+6975+11640+15950+19320+22750+26120+29475

=134615

total number of observations = 29+224+465+582+634+644+650+653+655

=4536

mean = 134615 / 4536

          = 29.67

Median ,

here the number of students is 4536 which is even , therefore the median will be the average of (\frac{n}{2}) and  (\frac{n}{2}+1) th term

i.e) here 2268th and 2269th terms

so our answer here is 10 and 15

  median = \frac{10+15}{2}

                = 25 / 2

                 = 12.5
