1) Ferdinand Magellan first sailed around the world and proved that the earth is round.Pictures aken from space have also proved that earth is like a Sphere.

2) A globe shows the distribution of land and water on the surface of the earth. The correct Shape, Size and location of continents and oceans on the eath can be also be seen on a globe.

3) Maps are drawn on a flat surfaces. We can show continents, countries,, cities, neighborhood on a map.

Maps cannot be used to show the spherical earth because curved surface cannot be shown accurately on a flat surface

4) There are four features which help us to read map are directions, Scale, Symbol and Colours.
