1.The problems faced: (i) The roadnetwork is inadequate, keeping in view the volume of traffic and passengers. (ii) Roadways are highly congested in cities and most of the bridges and culverts are old or narrow.

2.Widen roads.

Narrow roads.

Add bus lanes.

Remove bus lanes.

Build tunnels.

Build a new ring road.

Build a light rail network.

Switch off traffic lights.
