Let the cost of one table and one chair be Rs.x and Rs.y respectively.

A/q

x = 6y - 100

On further solving, we get

x - 6y = -100 _______(1)

Also,

x + 4y = 1400 ________(2)

Subtract (1) and (2), we get

-6y - 4y = -100 - 1400

-10y = -1500

y = 150

Put this in (1), we get

x - 6(150) = -100

x - 900 = -100

x = -100 + 900

x = 800

\mathsf\red{Cost \ of \ a \ chair \ = \ Rs.150}

Therefore, Option B. is correct

Hey !!

Let Cost of chair be X .

Cost of table = (6X - 100 ) .

According to the question,

Cost of one table + Cost of 4 chairs = 1400.

6X - 100 + 4 ( X ) = 1400

6X - 100 + 4X = 1400

10X = 1500

X = 150.

Cost of a chair = X = 150.
