1)The Deccan Plateau is a landmass that lies to the south of the river Narmada.

2)It is higher in the west and slopes gently eastwards.

3)Its height varies from 300 meters to 900 meters above the sea level.

4)It was formed by lava flows. Millions of years ago, melted rock (lava) erupted from beneath the Earth's surface and spilled out over the ground.

5)The Deccan plateau is very rich in minerals and precious stones.

6)It covers eight states of India like ; Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
