It was not easy for Griffin to wander in London without proper clothes because it was mid Winter then. Instead of roaming about the street, Griffin decided to enter a big London store for warmth. When the doors of the store was shut, he was able to give himself the pleasure of food and clothing without spending money. He broke open boxes and wrappers and put on an overcoat and a wide brimmed hat. He slept in a pills of quills.
