Anne Frank was born in the city of Frankfurt, on 12 June 1929. The Frank family had to moved from Germany to Amsterdam in 1933, in the year Hitler gained control over Germany. Life in Holand was happy and normal but it ended when Nazi's started persecution of the Jews in Holland. After their occupation in 1940, Anne had to leave her Montessori School, and attend the Jewish Lyceum. When Anne's sister Margot was called up for deportation to Germany, the family was forced to go to into hiding in the building where Anne'sfather Otto Frank worked. The Franks lived in the secret apartment for 25 months. The hiding place was raided in August 1944 and all the inmates where sent to different concentration camps. Anne, her sister Margot and her mother Edith Frank where sent first to Austwitch (Polland) on 3 September 1944. One by one perished. The last to die were two sisters Margot and Anne , at Bergen- Belsona concentration camp near the Hanover, Germany, in March 1945. On her Thirteenth Birthday, Anne's parents gave her a diary on her Thirteenth Birthday . Anne immediately filled up with daily events, her thoughts, school grades, boys and at all that, But within a month, her entire life changed.
