Early Vedic - Varuna(regulator of seasons),Usha(goddess of dawn),Surya(the Sun-God),Indra(God of thunder, rain and war) , Vayu(Wind God),Prithvi(Goddess of Earth) and Agni.

Later Vedic - Brahma,Vishnu and Shiva.Female deities namely Durga,Kali,Lakshmi and Parvati.

The Gods which were worshipped by the Vedic people are Indra, Agni, Surya, Varuna, Vayu, Mitra, Yama, Aditi, Sarasvati, Soma, etc.

* There were almost 33 Gods present in the Vedic age.

* They performed several sacrifices and rituals to pay homage to the deities.

* Each of the Gods was meant for something or the other, for example, Indra was the lord of the heavens, Varuna was the lord of the moral law and so on.
