Ans) a)  Area of shaded region = Area of Bigger Rectangle - Area of four                             squares + area of one smaller rectangle

                   = 20*10 - 4*2*2 + 6*14
                   = 200 - (16+84)
                   = 200 - 100
                   = 100 m^2

b) Area of shaded region = Area of Biggest Rectangle - Area of 2 smaller                                                rectangles

                                        =  30*15 - (8*10+10*10)
                                        = 450 - (80+100)
                                         = 450 - 180
                                         =  270 m^2
