This is due to the gene . when x and y hormones of the parents combine with gene then some characters of parents can be seen in the new born child.

In case of sexual reproduction new born resembles the characters of their parents.This happens because their dna structure is mostly same.
Eg.-If a person is having curly hair his son may have the same.
