Hey, assuming that the answer is in the text itself, I'll guide you through it

(1) looks like you already marked it, the text which says that "about 500years ago, Ferdinand Magellan, a famous explorer started his journey around the world. he kept sailing westwards until the point where his ship reached the same point from where he left off"(that's exactly described as in the text) is the answer

(2) The globe helps us in showing the shape and location of the continents, shores, oceans and continents as it is not possible to see all of a globe at a time

If its not from the text, do let me know
PS: Earth is round, unless you are a flat earther

Hi friend

Here is your answer -:

_____________________________

1) About 500 years ago in 1519, Ferdinand Magellon, a famous explorer, started his journey around the world. He kept on sailing westyards. After three years, in 1522, his ship returned to the exact place from where he had started his journey and this could be only possible only on a round surface. In this way he proved that the earth is round.

2) A globe is an exact miniature model of the earth. It shows the earth in its actual shape, with all continents, oceans, etc marked at their proper places.

{Read your textbook for proper difinition of globe and its uses} ☺
