(ii) In this case, ''him'' is being referred to the sloth bear in the story while ''her'' is the wife of the narrator.

(iii) The incidence of sugarcane field is referred to here .When one of the narrator 's companion shoot the mother bear , she was having a baby sloth bear with her.
