If one more pen is bought the total cost would be 28 Rs. While looking at the problem we see that the cost of the book is 4 Rs more than the pen and the total of 1 book and 1 pen is 20Rs. With this information we use the guess check revise strategy. After many tries of plugging in we see that that if we use 8Rs for the cost of pen and 12Rs for the book it equals 20Rs which is the result we are supposed to get and the pen is 4Rs less than the book. The question then asks what the cost will be if another pen was bought. To do this we add 8Rs which is the cost of the pen to the original total of 20 Rs to get a final result of 28Rs. That is how I solved the problem.
