.The Random Access Memory is the major part of the main memory of a computer. It is called random access because the data can be retrieved from any address of this memory directly and the time required for it is not dependent upon the address of the location.

.Random-access memory (RAM ) is a form of computer data storage which stores frequently used program instructions to increase the general speed of a system.
.Read-only memory (ROM) is a type of non-volatile memory used in computers and other electronic devices. Data stored in ROM can only be modified slowly, with difficulty, or not at all, so it is mainly used to store firmware (software that is closely tied to specific hardware, and unlikely to need frequent updates) or application software in plug-in cartridges.
.Primary storage, also known as main storage or memory, is the area in a computer in which data is stored for quick access by the computer's processor.
.Secondary memory is where programs and data are kept on a long-term basis. Common secondary storage devices are the hard disk and optical disks. The hard disk has enormous storage capacity compared to main memory.
.A file is an object on a computer that stores data, information, settings, or commands used with a computer program.
