1. the company was able to create the class of zamindars as their Ally who acted as the intermediary between them and the peasantry. Zamindar were motivated to increase the agricultural production as the rate of revenue to be paid to the British was fixed they could keep the surplus after paying their due to the company.

2. The Sannyasi rebellion or Sannyasi Revolt were the activities of sannyasiss in Bengal against the East India Company rule in the late 18th century. It is also known as the Sannyasi rebellion which took place around Murshidabad and Baikunthupur forests of Jalpaiguri.

3. The Wahabi movement was a revivalist movement which tried to purify Islam by eliminating all the un-Islamic practices which had crept into Muslim society through the ages. [ Period of Movement 1820s to 1870s] It offered the most serious and well-planned challenge to British supremacy in India from 1830's to 1860's.

4. Causes of Tribal Revolts in India. The tribals' mainstay were shifting agriculture, hunting, fishing and the use of forest produce. With the influx of non-tribals into the traditional regions of the tribals, the practice of settled agriculture was introduced. This led to a loss of land for the tribal population.
