(1). Monsoon is considered as a unifying bond because: *The seasonal alternation of the wind systems and the associated weather conditions provide a rhythmic cycle of seasons. * These monsoon winds binds the whole country by providing water for agricultural activities.

(2). Latitude, attitude, pressure and winds are factors that influence the India's climate. ... The Tropic of Cancer passes through the middle of the country from the Rann of Kuchchh in the west to Mizoram in the east.

(3). Parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and the leeward side of Western ghats are drought-prone because they receive scanty rainfall. The monsoon winds are left with very less moisture by the time they reach Rajasthan and Gujarat so these areas are drought prone.

(4). The monsoon has characteristic wet and dry spells or 'breaks' in rainfall. The monsoon rains take place only for a few days at a time. They are interspersed with rainless intervals.

The rainfall is unevenly distributed across the Indian landscape.
