Answer:

Nutrients help break down food to give organisms energy. They are used in every process of an organism's body. Some of the processes are growth (building cells), repair (healing a wound), and maintaining life (breathing). Plants and other autotrophs absorb nutrients from soil and water.

THEY SYNTHESISE THIER FOOD BY A PROCESS CALLED PHOTOSYNTHESIS. Photosynthesis is the physico-chemical process by which plants can convert light energy into chemical energy, in the form of food using atmospheric carbon dioxide and water as raw materials.

In the absence of photosynthesis there would not be any food and oxygen for the survival of living organisms and the life would be impossible on the earth.

The insectivorous plants grow in soil which do not contain sufficient nitrogen mineral. But they do not get the nitrogen from the soil in which they grow. So, insectivorous or carnivorous plants feed on insects to obtain the nitrogen needed for their growth.

So, when fertilisers and manures are added to the soil in the fields, then the soil gets enriched with nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium, etc. Organic farming can also help to recover the lost nutrients from the soil.

Answer:

1. Nutrients help break down food to give organisms energy. They are used in every process of an organism's body. Some of the processes are growth (building cells), repair (healing a wound), and maintaining life (breathing). Plants absorb nutrients from soil and water.

2. THEY SYNTHESISE THEIR FOOD BY A PROCESS CALLED PHOTOSYNTHESIS. Photosynthesis is the physico-chemical process by which plants can convert light energy into chemical energy, in the form of food using atmospheric carbon dioxide and water as raw materials.

3. In the absence of green plants, there would not be the process of photosynthesis. Besides oxygen which is essential for the survival of all living organisms is produced during photosynthesis. Thus, we can say that life would be impossible on the earth in the absence of photosynthesis.

4. Some plants eat insects because they don't get enough of nitrogen from the soil and to regulate the amount of nitrogen they eat insects. These plants are called Insectivorus plants.

5. When fertilizers and manures are added to the soil in the fields, the soil gets enriched with nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium, etc. Organic farming can also help to recover the lost nutrients from the soil.
