1)The endocrine system is a system of glands that involve the release of chemicals called hormones endocrine glands are also known as ductless glands as they do not have any ducts of their own they pour their secretions directly into to bloodstream the endocrine system regulate metabolism growth development and property of the body it plays an a part in controlling your mood the major glands that make up the endocrine system include hypothalamus, pituitary ,thyroid, parathyroid ,adrenals, pineal and reproductive glands (ovaries and testes) one of the hormones released by pituitary gland is growth hormone it regulates the growth and development of the body the thyroid gland releases thyroxine that regulate the metabolic rate of various body functions if enough thyroxine is released by the thyroid gland the thyroid gland swell up and cause a bulge in the neck region this diseased condition is called goitre it usually occurs due to the deficiency of iodine in the diet insulin a hormone released by pancreas lower the blood glucose level if it is not secreted insufficient quantities the person is said to be suffer from the disease called diabetes the adrenal glands are tiny organs that are located on the top of each kidney they released Adrenaline a hormone which controls the the response of body to stressful situations they also release hormones which regulate the mineral levels in the blood

2) in females the ovaries become active when girl reaches puberty this is normally between 11 to 13 years of age one ovum in one of ovary become mature once in 28 days the mature ovum enters in oviduct where it may get fertilised
