1: Human poverty is a concept that goes beyond the limited view of poverty as lack of income. It refers to the denial of political, social and economic opportunities to an individual to maintain a 'reasonable' standard of living.

2: Since 2014, OPHI has used more extreme MPI indicators to shine a light on hundreds of millions of people who each day face grinding hardships difficult for most of us to imagine: the destitute, or poorest of the poor.

3: The main features of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 are mentioned below: (i)The NREGAs 2005 was passed in September 2005. (ii)The act provides 100 days assured employment to every rural household in 200 districts. (iii)The centralgovernment will also establish National Employment Guarantee funds.
