(i) The population growth rate in India started declining gradually after 1981 due to the following reasons: Control over birth rate because of the creation of awareness among people by the Government policies. Rising rate of literacy among the people.

(ii) The major components of population growth are Birth Rate, Death Rate and Migration. Birth rate is the number of live births per thousand persons in a year. It is a major component of growth. Death rate is the number of deaths per thousand persons in a year.

(iii) The birth rate is the number of live births per thousand persons in a year. ... The death rate is the number of deaths per thousand persons in a year. The age composition of a population refers to the number of people in different age groups in a country.
