(b) The doctor showed a great presence of mind on seeing the snake. He neither jumped nor cried out. He sat on the chair holding his breath. His body was still but his mind remained very active.
(c) When the lost child reached the temple door, the men were jostling with one another. The poor child struggled to thrust a way out but was knocked down. He might have been trampled if he had not shouted at a high pitch.
(d) Grandfather, an animal lover, took pity on Toto as it was kept tied to a feeding trough. Grandfather decided to bring it to his private zoo, as he was much impressed by Toto.
