• Sep Sukh Ram, the son of Shri Lakhu Ram, had always desired to join the army since he was a child and pursued his dream as he grow up.
• On November 26, 1959, at the age of 21, he enlisted in the army and was assigned to 3 Dogra of the Dogra Regiment, a regiment noted for its heroic troops and several battle honours.
• Sep Sukh Ram was a brave and selfless soldier who gave his life in the service of our country.
• For his excellent courage, fighting spirit, and heroic sacrifice, Sep Sukh Ram was awarded the nation's third highest gallantry honour, the "Vir Chakra."
