This is a slow process which occurs in dry area or where the sufficient rain fall occurs or may occur at high speed in rock slide, landslide etc.

The major cause of mass movement includes change in slope angle or weathering that causes weakening of materials, overloading, change in vegetation etc.

Mass movement includes solifluction,rock glaciers, mud flow, flow of debris, rockfall,rock slide,slumping etc.
