The factors that control temperature distribution of the surface of the earth are as follows -

• Altitude : The temperature is inversely proportional with the increasing altitude which means higher altitudes have lower temperature as compared with the lower altitudes.

• Geographical location : The equatorial regions have more temperature as compared with the both polar regions.

• Ocean current : The regions which are affiliated by the cold ocean currents have a lower temperature as compared with the regions which are affiliated by the hot ocean currents.

The vegetation amount, pollution amount and many other factors also affect the temperature distribution on the surface of our planet.
