Characteristics of perennial river:
Explanation:
- They are fed by rainwater and so they are seasonal in nature. The rivers are filled with water in the monsoon seasons.
- The rivers flow through almost same or low elevation (in the plateau region) so the gradient in height is low. As a result of this, they have a low velocity.
- The river valleys are broad and shallow. This is because the rivers flow with low velocity and so is not capable of cutting further deep into the river bed. They also fail to form meanders and flow straight.
