Here's your Answer
Ans1. Lint is the common name for visible accumulations of textile fibers and other materials, usually found on and around clothing. Certain materials used in the manufacture of clothing, such as cotton, linen, and wool, contain numerous, very short fibers bundled together.
Ans2. Retting, process employing the action of bacteria and moisture on plants to dissolve or rot away much of the cellular tissues and gummy substances surrounding bast-fibre bundles, thus facilitating separation of the fibre from the stem. Basic methods include dew retting and water retting.
Ans3. Silk has a smooth, soft texture that is not slippery, unlike many synthetic fibers. Silk is one of the strongest natural fibers, but it loses up to 20% of its strength when wet. It has a good moisture regainz of 11%. Its elasticity is moderate to poor: if elongated even a small amount, it remains stretched.
Ans4. The characteristics of Wool fiber or protein fibers are as follows: They are composed of amino acids. ... They have poor resistance to alkalis but good resistance to acids. They have good elasticity and resiliency.
