a.Help received by Indian groups as well This paved way for the British to exploit the support of many rulers. The same was true with Zamindars, moneylenders and some of the middle class as well.

b.The Indian Rebellion of 1857 occurred as the result of an accumulation of factors over time, rather than any single event. The sepoys were Indian soldiers who were recruited into the Company's army. 

c.The places in India which did not take part in the revolt of 1857 were -

1. Punjab

2. Sindh

3. Hyderabad

4. Gujarat

5. Bombay
