Answer: total surface area of article = curved surface area of cylinder +2* curved surface area of a hemisphere 
 
curved surface area of a cylinder
r= 3.5cm
height of cylinder=10cm
curved surface area of cylinder= 2πrh
=2*22/7*3.5*10
=2*22/7*35
=2*22*5
=220cm^2

surface area of a hemisphere
radius= 3.5
surface area of hemisphere=2
πr^2
=2*22/7*(3.5)^2
=2*22/7*3.5*3.5
=2*22*0.5*3.5
=44*0.5*3.5
=77cm^2

surface area of a hemisphere= 2* surface area of hemisphere
=2*77
=154cm^2

total surface area of article
=curved surface area of cylinder+ 2* curved surface area of hemisphere 
=220+154
=374cm^2

hence, total surface area of article=374cm^2
