Answer:-

  • Himalaya word is derived from a Sanskrit word Him which literally means ' Abode of Snow'.
  • Three parallel ranges of Himalayas are The Greater Himalayas (Himadri), The lower Himalayas(Himachal) and The Shivalik Range.
  • Duns are the longitudinal valleys which lie between Himachal and Shivaliks. Example- Dehra dun, Patli dun, Kotli dun etc.
  • The Himachal is famous due to various Hill stations like Manali, Shimla etc.
  • Crops are cultivated in the Lower range of The Himalayas.
