1. India is called an agricultural country because the agricultural production in India is the most.
2. Food crops are the crops that are eaten after the harvest whereas can crops are those which are cultivated for capital.
3. There are many crops grown in India such as Rice, What, Cotton, Jute, Tea, Coffee, Sugarcane, etc.
4. The most important and staple food of India is Rice. It requires 100-150 cm rainfall.
5. Government of India has taken several measures to help the Indian farmers .
1. India primary activity is agricuture. Most of the rural polulation of the country based on agricuture for thier employment.
2.In simple words we can say cash crop are that crops grown for the employment and to sell where as food crops are those crops which are produced for own consumption .

4.Rice is the most important crop of India . rice is grown in tropical and subtropical region of India .it is grown in the state of Punjab ,Haryana ,Western up ,Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu ,Kerala etc. In West Bengal Three Types of rice crop are grown like aus ,aman and boro. In Himalayas and northern western part of India the rice is grown as kharif crop during Southwest monsoon season .
India is contributed about 21.6 percent of rice in the world. India has second in terms of production of rice in world .The leading state of Rice production in India are West Bengal, Punjab ,and UP.
The temperature is required for rice cultivation that is 25 to 30 degree .
the rainfall is required for rice cultivation that is 175 to 300 CM annually
the fertile soil is required for rice cultivation that is Alluvial soil which will hold the moisture on large extent .
5. Government have taken various steps such as :
- Intensification of cropping over already cultivated land.
- stress on cultivation of food crops
- fellow land was converted in cultivated land
- Green revolution
