Hey folk....
1) Aniline is weaker base than ethyl amine.
First of all u should know on what basis we judge basic strength of compounds i.e. availability of lone pair, more the availibility more stronger will be the base.
SO, in case of Aniline lone pair of :NH2 is busy in resonance with the phenyl ring which decreases availability of lone pair bcoz that lone pair is in conjugation with double bond of phenyl ring ( condition for resonance ) ,
whereas,
In case of ethyl amine no resonance is there and there is +I effect of ethyl which increases the intensity of lone pairs.
So, we can say ethyl amine has free lone pair and is very much basic than Aniline.
2) AZEOTROPIC MIXTURE:
This is mxture of two or more than two liquids which has no effect on it's composition due to distillation.
The composition of the liquid phase at the boiling point is identical to that of the vapor in equilibrium with it, and such mixtures or azeotropes form constant-boiling solutions.
If u asked to change the exact composition of azeotrope, than change the boiling points of both liquits by changing external pressure.
3) FRACTIONAL DISTILLATION:
This is a very important method of sepereting two chemical compounds but with the give condition i.e. all the compounds must have different BOILING POINTS.
GIVEN ATTATCHMENTS: 1) resonating structure of Aniline
2) structure of ethyl amine showing lp
3) apparatus to perform fractional distillation
