Subsistence crisis is crisis which occurs due to inflation in prices of essential commodities and directly or indirectly we are responsible for occurence of such things.
It was one of main reasons for occurence of French revolution as
1.France was affected by financial crisis due to taxes which were imposed by king on people.
2.Population increased resulting in increase in demand for food but production and supply of food never increased automatically resulting in sky rocketing prices of general food items.
3.Famine was also responsible for occurrence of the same.
4.Gap between rich and poor increased.
