Answer :

  • The minimum required force F to start moving B is 1100 N

Solution:

•Mass of block A = 100 kg

•Mass of block B = 200 kg

The coefficient of friction between A and B = 0.2

The coefficient of friction between B and the ground  = 0.3

We need to find the minimum force F required to start moving block B

But inorder to find F first we need to draw all the forces on block B

Pls refer the attachment first for better understanding

From the diagram we can conclude that

 \rightarrow \mathtt{F = f (AB ) + f ( BG ) }....(1)

________________

\rightarrow \mathtt{ f (AB )  =  \mu \: m_A \: g }

\rightarrow \mathtt{ f (AB )  = 0.2 \times 100 \times 10}

\rightarrow \mathtt{  \orange{f (AB )  =200 \: N}}....(2)

_________________

\rightarrow \mathtt{  f ( BG )  =\mu \: (m_A + m_b) \: g }

\rightarrow \mathtt{  f ( BG )  =0.3\: (100 + 200)  \times 10}

\rightarrow \mathtt{  f ( BG )  =0.3 \times 300 \times 10}

\rightarrow \mathtt{  \pink{ f ( BG )  =900 \: N}}...(3)

________________

Substituting the values of (2 ) and (3) in (1) we get ,

 \rightarrow \mathtt{F = 200+ 900 }

 \rightarrow \mathtt{ \red{F = 1100 N }}
