The hermit did not answer the king’s questions at first because the hermit was a man with wise knowledge. He knew the importance and impact of practical knowledge. He wanted the king to get the answers of his three questions through his own experience as practical knowledge is better than theoretical knowledge. Eventually, the answers to the king’s questions were:

1) The most important time is when we have power.

2) The most necessary man is with whom we are as no one knows whether he will have dealing with someone else.

3) The most important thing is to do good for others as for this purpose only man has been sent to earth.
