Dear frnd

Explanation:

I) 1) Anything that occupy space and have mass is called matter.

2) A. Rigid form of matter is any Solid material. So general name could be Solids. B. Fluid form of matter is Liquid. General name could be Liquid.

3) The substance that have definite volume but no definite shape is Liquid.

4) when we pour a drop of ink into water it starts dissolving (ink spreads in the water). The process is Dissolution.

5)Oxygen and Carbon dioxide (Oxygen for the patient and Co2 are used as fire extinguisher).

6)i) Wood have a definite shape and mass.

ii) Wood are rigid and can't be compressed.

7)They have negligible force of attraction between their molecules.

8)a) solid - 1) Pencil ,2)Table

b) liquid - 1) Water, 2) Oil

C) gas- 1)perfume, 2)water vapor

9)when salt is dissolved in water the salt gets dissolved in it due to the inter molecular space between the particles of the water. The particles of salt settles between these spaces. Thus there is no increase in the volume of the water.

10)Sugar >Water >Oxygen.

Answer 1: it is made of atoms, it should have some mass, it occupies space.

Answer 2: a) solid. b) liquid.

Answer 3: Liquid.

Answer 4: Diffusion.

Answer 5: In homes- natural gas or CNG.

In hospitals- oxygen.

Answer 6: Because wood has definite shape.

Answer 7: Because the force of attraction between particles of gas is very less.

Answer 8: a) Wood and Ice

b) water and soil

c) Oxygen and nitrogen.

Answer 9: The volume of water will not increase as salt will occupy space between the particles of water. It illustrates the characteristics that matter occupies space.

Answer 10: 1. Oxygen 2.Water 3. Sugar.
